My Style Diary - Saturday Shopping!

 Hello again!

So I changed my mind and decided to do one more post tonight ...I was in the mood, so why not? :)

This is what I wore today. Myer was having a massive sale, so I decided to head into the city and treat myself to a nice day of shopping. I used to hate shopping by myself, but now I absolutely love it. It's so relaxing, just wandering around, taking my time and looking at whatever I like. It doesn't matter if I don't buy anything, I just enjoy the experience. I did actually find some great bargains today though which I'm sure will be appearing in an Outfit of the day soon! (Also, it probably seems like I do a LOT of shopping... I do tend to shop quite often, but pretty much everything I buy is on sale! I'm a sucker for a bargain and don't often pay full price for things!)

These boots were a bargain find from New York a few years ago. I love the colour and how they're really relaxed and slouchy - but not too slouchy! My necklace was also from New York, from Forever 21. That shop was amazing! The one I went into had about 6 levels! My favourite accessory today though was this cute cross ring which was half price from Asos. :)

Anyway, that's it for tonight. I hope you had a lovely Saturday!

My Style Diary - Friday Night Florals

Hello there!

This is what I wore out to dinner last night for an early birthday celebration with my family and family friends. We went out for Indian (my favourite food) and had a really lovely night. I was also thoroughly spoiled with some early birthday gifts - a pair of absolutely beautiful rose gold stud earrings and delicious chocolates! (Thank you so much!)

Anyway, I wasn't in the mood to wear a dress yesterday (it's getting too cold!), but I still wanted to feel girlie, so I decided to go with my floral jeans. I've been getting so much wear out of them and I love how they can dress up and add a bit of colour to an outfit, and make me feel just a bit more feminine (but still comfortable and warm!)

For some reason, dresses and skirts are just too much effort for me in winter. I just don't find tights or leggings very comfortable, and find it so much easier just pulling on a pair of pants and a warm knit. What can I say? - I'm lazy! Luckily for me the winters are actually very mild in Perth!

Seeing as we were just going out for dinner I figured I would take the opportunity to wear heels. I love these ones - the colour, the shape, the heel height...perfection... except for the fact that they are the most painful heels I own!
Ah well...

My dad is having his "Wine Club" night tonight - they all get together for a meal and bring a bottle of wine each (all wrapped up so they can't see the label), and discuss what they think of the wine/where it's from etc. It's quite funny listening to them - "You can smell the strawberry notes in this one", "Actually I think this one has a slight smell of crushed ants". Lol

Anyway, I think I will leave it at that tonight. I'm going to go have a cup of tea and snuggle up in bed and read.

Goodnight :)

Top - Country Road
Pants - Dotti
Shoes - Wittner
Necklace - a brooch that used to belong to my Great Grandma

My Style Diary - Coral and Stripes

Hello!

This has been a great week for me, because for the first time since starting work I've actually been really enjoying myself! I'm one of those people who just takes a little while to adjust and be comfortable in new situations!

Today was a particularly nice day. I had work in the morning, and then I met up with my dad for lunch. It's becoming a nice little Thursday tradition! I drive to his office, we go and have lunch and coffee, and then go for a bit of a walk before heading back. It's nice to be able to spend more time with him :)

Anyway, I don't have time to write much more at the moment because I have to go and pick Tom up from uni, so I'll leave it at that for now!

What I'm Wearing
Dress - Mango
Shoes - Country Road

My Style Diary - Pink and Khaki (again!)

Hello

Sunday night again! It seems to come round so quickly! I'm sitting here drinking my Camomile tea and watching the end of Bruce Almighty. Such a funny movie.

Today my family went to watch my youngest sister playing cello in a music eisteddfod. She played really well and ended up coming second!

Anyway, I was excited to wear my new khaki pants today. I found them in Country Road yesterday when they were having their 25% of everything sale. I love Country Road, but it's usually pretty expensive, so I only really buy when they're having their sales. I also picked up some really nice photo frames which I'm planning on putting my graduation photos and Europe photos in (once I get around to actually printing them!)

What I'm Wearing
Top - Trennery
Pants - Country Road
Cardigan - Pull and Bear
Boots - from Zomp
Bag - Jigsaw
Necklace - local boutique
Ring - from San Gimignano
Watch - Thomas Sabo

My Style Diary - Bows and Ballet Flats for Mother's Day

'

Hello :)

I'm sitting in front of the heater right now in my pajamas, and feeling absolutely exhausted, but actually really happy! It was a pretty busy day at work today, but sometimes being busy can be a really good thing! It makes you feel like you're being very productive!

Anyway, this is what I wore on Sunday - Mother's day. I like how it's kind of lady-like with the striped bow top (I love the bows on the back, but my sister said it looked like a hospital gown!), ballet flats, and simple jewellery... but has a bit of a "twist" with the ripped jeans and (almost) black nail polish.

Reading back over that last sentence makes me laugh because it sounds like I actually put thought into the outfit, when in reality, I was just in the mood for wearing something super comfy, and the top and jeans were the easiest things to throw on!

Anyway, I think going to go watch an episode of Castle now. I hope you're having a lovely Wednesday night!

What I'm Wearing
Top - French Connection
Jeans - Siwy
Shoes - Country Road
Bag - Jigsaw
Necklace - Thomas Sabo
Bracelet - Tiffany & Co. (a birthday gift)
Nail polish - OPI Lincoln Park After Dark

My Style Diary - A day full of food!

 Hello :)

So it's Saturday night and I'm sitting here typing with a heat pack on my neck because my neck is killing me! I was "studying" today (by studying I mean just doing some dental related reading while Tom was doing actual work on his thesis), and I probably wasn't sitting in the best position. Silly Lauren! :p

Anyway, this is what I wore yesterday. Tom and I went for breakfast, and I had the best french toast I've ever eaten (see above photo, doesn't it look delicious?!) Later on, I went and met up with my mum for lunch and then at night my friend cooked a  "Mexican Feast" for us. It was a great day filled with two of my favourite things - catching up with some of my favourite people and eating amazing food! (not so good for my health...but...oh well...)

I really need to start getting into my "healthy eating" kick. I go through phases where I will be really healthy for a while, and then I'll go through a "Whatever...it's yummy I'll just eat whatever I want" kind of phase. I'm going to make a conscious effort this week to make better choices!

Anyway, I don't really have much more to say tonight, so I'll leave it at that. I hope you're having a lovely Satuday night :)

What I'm Wearing
Jacket - from Hong Kong, I think the brand was "Tokito"
Jeans - Calvin Klein
Shoes - Country Road
Scarf - from Cambridge
Black top - Dotti
Bag - Jigsaw
Ring - Wild Lily Empire

What's In My Bag

Hello :)

Seeing as I have a little more time tonight I thought l would do another post, and for some reason I really felt like doing a "What's in my bag" post today. I always find reading other peoples "What's in my bag" posts intriguing, so I thought I may as well jump on the bandwagon. I took photos for this quite some time ago, but never got around to writing this up. Anyway...here we go...

1) Glasses - I used to only wear them in class, but unfortunately I've been slowly getting blinder and now they're usually always on my face!

2) Phone

3) Too many lip products! - Burts bees lipbalm (my favourite lip balm), Chanel Coco Shine Lipstick, Revlon Kissable Balm stain ...and usually a lot more accumulate in there!

4) Travalo perfume atomizer which is filled with my favourite perfume - Vera Wang Princess. It's such a handy little invention :)

5) Hand Cream - this one's the Great Barrier Island Bee Co. Manuka honey hand cream, and it smells lovely.

6) Wallet - this was a birthday present last year and I absolutely love the colour :)

7) Diary - this one's from Kikki.K, they have the cutest stationary!

8) Mirror - my best friend brought this back from Paris for me :)

9) Spare hair tie

10) Mints

11) Headphones

12) A snack - in this case roasted almonds :)

My bag is from Jigsaw. It was my Graduation Present to myself once I started working and I spent a long time researching which one to get! I wanted a neutral bag that would go with everything, and this one does just that (and has a nice subtle  pink colour on the sides and bottom to make it just a bit more interesting). It's also the perfect size and style!

Anyway, so that's what's in my bag...  :)

My Style Diary - Nostalgia

Hello :)

Sunday night already! This weekend has gone by so quickly. Probably because this is the first week this year that I actually had a full working week. It was very busy, but it's good that work is starting to pick up a bit! Otherwise I'm going to get too used to 3 day weekends!

Anyway, it's been a lovely weekend. On Friday night I had the Engineering Ball and it was an awesome night. My friends came over early and we got ready together, which always gets the night off to a fun start, and it's always good to have help with last minute decisions of what to wear, makeup etc... :)
Then today I had a 3 hour Swing Dancing workshop. I've tried Swing dancing before, about 3 years ago, but because things were just so busy with uni I never really committed to it. It was a really fun day and I'm excited to get into it! It's been on my list of "Things I want to do" for so long.

I took these photos last weekend, and I feel like such a little kid in this outfit...but I love it! I used to wear overalls all the time and was so excited when I found these ones. I like how they're a bit different to the typical ones that you see around. Another thing that makes me excited is the fact that Jelly shoes seem to be coming back into fashion. I haven't bought a pair yet because I'm trying to be good...but I'm sure next summer I won't be able to resist! They take me straight back to year 5!

What I'm Wearing
Overalls - from Singapore
Top - Mink Pink
Shoes - from Paris
Watch - Thomas Sabo
Bracelets - Pandora and a birthday gift
Nail Polish - OPI Do you lilac it
the sparkly one was a free sample from Sportsgirl!
